This is Canada. We have a government that talks a good game. That’s about all.

I have been practicing. Using the Hemingway App I went from grade 17 to now, if I am careful, I can write at a grade 5 level. This is a good thing. I know I thought I was awesome. I tested many online articles — bad writing is common.

I have always struggled to express myself in writing. French immersion and dyslexia never helped. So here is a recent piece of work. It was practice, passionate, but apropos. From a personal perspective. In an age when image matters more than content. I take a message from Marshal McLuhan. Authenticity is what is missing. I have that in spades. Some would call it acerbic? I call it rhetoric. Enjoy. Hope everyone is weathering this storm of hope-fall. Nothing lasts. Good or bad.

Pure gold from this govt and the CBC. China and Tibet: 2million dead. China and Mongolia. Now China and Xijiang.

I bet Trudeau actually does encourage an investigation into the residential schools.

Why? To cover that this is not a historical problem! This is a problem of our present. When CBC will air pure propaganda about the Virus, not last year but this past week.

When our government will ignore veterans and their suffering. Then ask us all to feel for the environment or the approved ‘identity’ of the week. That is why we have no cash? When hundreds of Indigenous Canadians go missing year after year. The government feels that yet another study will do? Years of lies and broken promises.

The real issue is racism and discrimination in Canada. I have been subject to three(4) separate types of discrimination myself. And all invisible. I was subject to Irish hate by a Scottish manager at the bank. She kept removing my cashback as she felt 2000$ was too much — for an Irish named person. Yet I had a lending limit of $10 million dollars. Was responsible for millions more in investments for clients.

Being asked countless times in my youth. ‘What tribe are you from?” Not because my Grandmother was native. My blood relative was a war bride who did not like Canada so she went back to England. My grandfather, before I was born, married the Chief’s daughter(of a local tribe). He had a great relationship with the Native community. As an architect and philanthropist in Northern Ontario. He built many of the iconic buildings in the North. In fact my father grew up on a reserve. He passed down that same respect and the traditions he learned. Now why was I asked my tribe? I did not look ‘Indian’. I treated the many students in my high school: like human beings. The five years I spent in high school(two schools). One took in Natives from all over the north. I spoke to them as people, when most students would refuse to even look their way. Most Native students left to their own groups. Sad, since most were from different cultures. A fact lost on most students and teachers: is that ignorance or hate? Does it matter? The other school in town had only a couple of Native students. I played football with one. He was tough. Had to be. Labelled a spear chucker, a wagon burner. Heck, his nickname could get me banned on social media, bill C-10.

Next was being Bilingual. I was always, and still am the subject of discrimination and hate. I speak perfect English. Had to. Early French Immersion. I spoke with a French accent till I was in my early teens. I worked hard on getting rid of that accent. Why? Because even after I had near perfect English. If near anyone found out I could speak French. They would ask: Are you French? Like that was the only reason you would want to speak French? No, even when I had no French background. I do but hundreds of years ago — look up Chevalier D’Eon. My relative married his daughter, during the French Revolution, and returned to Ireland. Long before their descendants moved to the Ottawa Valley. Where our family lore has we intermarried with the Native population. A fact the family never hesitated to share. A fact never accepted by the population at large. Recently I answered this very question for a non Canadian history major. They asked why the Native populations sided with the French more so than the English. The French actually encouraged their settlers to intermarry. The English was a different story. I was always treated different. For knowing how to speak our second official language. So as an English Canadian, the dream of Trudeau Sr. To be fluent in both languages. Here I am, we about 0.2% of the population, who can pass the literacy tests in both languages, and live in either language.

I have been practicing my French. Yesterday I was in a lesson with native French speakers. I not only explained one French term they were using wrong, but two. They were talking about ‘I come’, ‘I am coming’ in French. There is a way of saying it that actually means ‘I am ejaculating’. Bad thing to say, if you do not mean it. Here is a native speaker using this term. So went further — discussed ‘Le Petit Mort’. The little death. They discussed it as a term. They had no idea it refers to orgasm in French. They went to look it up: ‘’That is a literature term — not something we learn — in school’ — in France? Then someone asked about how to surrender in French. The jokes aside about French capitulation. Also as an aside, France actually had better tanks and men than Germany in WWII. It was surprise (by not declaring war) and tactics that made the lightning war succeed. Not the cowardice of the French. Look at the French Legion for examples of valour and sacrifice. There are many ways to surrender in French. Not because they love to concede, but because French is a much more expressive language. There are many words in French for ideas that have no equal in English. I liken this to the ‘The Inuit do not have a word for snow’. No. But they have a dozen words for sleet. slush, ice… An omitted word does not mean the concept is absent in the culture.

This is another example of privilege. The great doubt of Greek philosophy. The tetralemma. A transformational idea. That ignorance transmuted into doubt: can awaken knowledge/Gnosis. The Greeks will ignore the concepts found in India that mirror this philosophy. In fact, it is even a philosophy of its own in India. Not only the concept. Catuṣkoṭi in Vajrayana. Why? Discrimination.

Last, as a bonus, is my dyslexia. I have been subject to discrimination with my disability, and now my diseases. If I admitted how disabled I was, I would quality for a pension. I want to be productive. Having gone to my MPP and asked about programs to help. After a month he called and told me to apply for CPP disability. Prior, informed there were tons of programs for the disabled. Nope, nothing? Not even help to start your own business? Nope, when I read the CRA website for guidelines… well, do not read their website: it is wrong. You must read the income tax act for how to setup a business in Canada. Or risk incarceration.

When the top 20% got 1/3 more support in the pandemic than the bottom 20% — that is criminal. As the support for this tyrannical regime: criminal. You choose which regime. They are both abhorrent.

This is Canada. We have a government that talks a good game, only to exacerbate the problems they claim to care about.

* I mean look at the picture CBC chose? His reception at the G7, as example. No other world leader gives him this reception?
